Farmers Market Recipes
Here is some of the yummy food I have made with this year's wonderful produce:
Farfalle with Zucchini
I used this recipe as inspiration rather than follow it strictly, such as substituting romano for the blue cheese and adding roasted turkey breast.
via Serious Eats
Tomato Pie
I made two of these for church lunch, and they were a big hit.
Zucchini and Corn Fritters
via Serious Eats
Very highly recommed this recipe - so easy and so delicious.
Tomato & Thyme Jam
via Slashfood
This has such a wonderfully unusual mix of flavors that I just can't stop eating it!

Kentucky Farmers' Markets
This past weekend, I went to my local farmers' market and bought the most delicious peaches I have ever eaten. Their sweet yellow flesh was so juicy that they were impossible to eat without getting messy. I also picked up zucchini squash (that I made into sauce for pasta, similar to this recipe), roma tomatoes (that I made into tomato pie), and baked goods from a local natural bakery.
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has compiled a list of farmers' markets for 2009. The list of registered farmers' markets is organized by county. Support local agriculture!

Almighty
"28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
